The Responsibilities of Membership at ALCC
Being a member of Abundant Life Christian Center also has its responsibilities. Even though we realize that none of us are perfect, there are seven commitments that each person must embrace, and agree to endeavor to abide by, to become eligible for membership.
Seven Commitments of Membership
1. Holiness
We expect each member to pursue a sanctified lifestyle by judging sin and maintaining personal purity.
2. Walk in Love
We expect each member to refrain from gossip, slander and tale-bearing and resolve personal conflicts through prayerful and loving personal confrontation.
3. Regular Worship
We expect each member to have an active participation in the life of the church through regular attendance at services, activities and fellowships.
4. Discipleship
We desire each member participate in at least one session per year in the Abundant Life Institute, provided circumstances allow.
5. Faithful Service
We expect each member to give of their time and talents by actively serving in at least one Ministry of Helps area; with a commitment of serving at least twice a month.
6. Faithful Giving
We believe each member should tithe (10%) faithfully of their increase and give over and above offerings to the Lord in obedience to the Bible’s teaching in Malachi 3:8-11.
7. Attitude
We expect each member to maintain a positive and faithful attitude towards the church and its leadership, seeking to stand in support of its mission and vision with their prayers, giving and service.
Four Simple Steps
Here Are The Four Simple Steps To Membership At Abundant Life:
Step 1
You must be born again. John 3:3.
Step 2
You must personally attend one membership meeting.
Each person in your family who desires to become a member, 18 years of age or older, must personally attend the membership meeting.
Step 3
You must embrace and agree to abide by the Seven Commitments of Membership.
Step 4
You must turn in a completed membership application to Information Services.
Once your application is received; your District Pastor will contact you to discuss any final questions or concerns that you may have. If you and your District Pastor are in agreement regarding moving forward with your membership, then, at a time to be determined, you will be welcomed and presented to the ever-increasing church family of Abundant Life. |
