Our Faith
What We Believe

Abundant Life Christian Center is a non-denominational Christian Church that holds a charismatic-evangelical theology. Our beliefs are firmly rooted in the theology of the Reformation, while fully embracing the contemporary ministry of the Holy Spirit and all His Gifts. We accept, as part of God’s universal family, all Christians – regardless of denomination – who embrace the Apostle’s Creed, have confessed personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe that His atoning work is the sole basis for their eternal salvation. Members of our church and associated ministries accept the following Statement of Faith and practice as essential for general unity and full communion within our spiritual community.

1.0 The Nature of God

We believe that God is One, eternally expressed in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead is eternal and transcendent, thus without creation or ending, sharing equally the attributes of Divinity; being all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere present in time and space. God’s trinity is not to be viewed apart from His indivisible unity. The three persons of the Godhead cannot be divided in essence, thus denying God’s Oneness, nor may God’s plurality of persons be confounded, thus denying His trinity. This mystery is revealed in the Holy Scriptures, beyond complete human description, and must be accepted by faith. Besides Him there is no other god in heaven or earth (John 14:9-16, Matt. 28:19, Acts 2:33, 1 John 1:23, 24, Rom. 1:20, Col. 2:9).

2.0 The Deity of Jesus

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. Jesus is Himself God (Isa. 9:6, 7; John 1:1), being equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit in essence (Phil. 2:6). He pre-existed with the Father as the only begotten Son and is the agent by whom the Father made the worlds (John 1:1, 2; Heb. 1:1-3). Although He is without beginning, He willfully chose to assume a human nature and was born in time and space of the virgin, Mary. He did this so that by full identification with the human race He could secure an eternal redemption for His Church (Heb. 2:14).

3.0 The Person of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity and personhood of the Holy Spirit. He proceeds from the Father and the Son and is the active agent of the Godhead on the earth today. While He possesses power, might and anointing, He is not to be confused as being these non-personal forces. His mission is to convict the world of sin, regenerate and secure believers in Christ, and empower God’s children to grow in grace while manifesting God’s Kingdom in the earth. We embrace all the gifts and manifestations of the Spirit as available and operative for the benefit of the New Testament Church. Each believer has been given at least one of these gifts, and is responsible to develop and minister their gift(s) to others in the spirit of faith working through love (John 14: 16-26; Luke 1:35, Rom. 12:4-13, 1 Cor. 12:4-11, 1 Peter 4:11-12).
