United Prayer Service
Saturday, August 16
Join the Abundant Life family as the Body
of Christ to support Pastor John in United
Prayer. United prayer is a vital source of
power which God uses to birth and loose His
plans and purposes in the earth today. Each
believer’s supply in prayer has value and is
precious to God . You will not be required
to pray aloud. Just follow the leader who
has been designated to lead prayer that day
by coming ready and full of faith. There will
be a synergy and a symphony in the Lord’s
presence! Let God be magnified in the midst
of His people!
The United Prayer Service will be held in the
Lecture Hall on Saturday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m.
And when they had prayed, the place in which they
were assembled together was shaken; and they were
all filled with the Holy Spirit and they continued to
speak the Word of God with freedom, boldness and
courage.
Acts 4:31 (amplified)
A Symphony of Prayer
1. I am an instrument
When praying alone, you simply make a heart
connection with the Lord. In a United Prayer
Meeting however, you not only connect with God,
you also connect with the other pray-ers. You come
into one accord spiritually with them (Matthew
18:19) to create a symphony of prayer before
the Lord. Prepare to be yielded and open. Don’t
speculate but be ready to bring your own spiritual
supply and make a united sound together in prayer.
2. Fine tuning my instrument
To pray most effectively with a group, prepare
your heart in advance. Draw near to God in your
heart through meditating on the Word of God and
worshipping Him. Set aside personal agendas and
preconceived ideas as to what topics should be
addressed in prayer. Embrace the fresh inspiration
and leading of the Lord that will come when the
group assembles.
3. Following the Leader
Follow the leader as they follow the Lord. You have
an anointing within you also that leads you and
is intent on teaching you. If you don’t understand
something stay open and positive, thankful and
prayerful. At these times it is always good to do
what the leader is doing at that moment.
4. Can you hear me now?
Make sure you can hear your prayer leader and
what they are praying clearly. Be considerate of
others around you. They are trying to follow as
well so don’t be a distraction to them. Listen both
internally for how the Holy Spirit is leading you, and
externally to how He is leading the Leader. If there
are lulls or momentary distractions, don’t drop out
but submit your mind and its thoughts to God and
stay connected. Stay spiritually engaged. You can
train your mind to cooperate with your spirit.
5. Showing up to practice
