THE CHALLENGES

It is estimated that there are over 100 Million children living and working on the streets throughout the world. Many of these children's rights have been violated and they go to extreme lengths to stave off hunger pains.

Hunger

Many of these children go to extreme lengths for food. In many cases they are subject to the exploitation life's basic necessities. Additionally, these children often look to drugs in order to curve or stave off the hunger pains they are feeling from lack of food.

Shelter

Many of these children have taken refugee in the streets for a variety of different reasons including: child abuse, peer-pressure, lack of resources in the home, or their brother or sister is currently living in the streets. Additionally, 50% of Kenya's population is under the age of 18. This presents a unique housing challenge for the country as a whole.

Cultural

Often, children who live in the street are often seen as outcasts by the current society. They are abritarially abused, arrested, and harassed.
